Days 1 & 2: Xugana Island Lodge, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Take a direct flight from Cape Town to Maun. Upon your arrival in Maun, and after clearing Botswana customs and immigration, you will be met by a representative and assisted onto your scheduled charter flight to Xugana Island Lodge. Enjoy this awesome bird's eye view of the Okavango Delta, taking very special memories and moments of Africa.

You will enjoy 2 nights at Xugana Island Lodge on a fully inclusive basis. The lodge accommodates just 16 guests in large raised reed and thatch chalets, situated on the shaded fringe of the island, each with a lagoon view through the lagoon-side vegetation.

Each chalet is twin bedded with en-suite facilities, showers, overhead fans and a private deck, His and Hers Robes are provided. Your stay at Xugana Island Lodge is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, all local brand drinks, scheduled safari activities, park entrance fees and laundry.

Gratuities, curios and all items of a personal nature are not included. Please note that children under the age of 12 are not allowed at Xugana Island Lodge.
                   

Visitors on their Botswana safari can enjoy mokoro trips in eco-friendly dugout canoes, combined with walking to surrounding lagoons and islands in the concession. Bird watching opportunities are outstanding, and fishing for Bream and Tiger fish is also offered as an activity at the lodge.

Days 3 & 4: Camp Moremi, Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana

After an early breakfast you will depart from Xugana Island Lodge to Camp Moremi with a boat trip (3 hours) through the intricate channels of the remote wilderness of the Okavango Delta.

You will enjoy this totally different game viewing experience and stop on one of the islands for coffee and biscuits along the way - you will see the change in the landscape and stop for game viewing when you find animals on the banks of the river, keeping an eye out for Hippo and Crocodile in the channels.

Camp Moremi accommodates only 22 guests in East African-style safari tents, individually situated on raised teak platforms. Each tent is exquisitely furnished with an African teak wardrobe, luggage rack, dressing table, bedside pedestals and traditional director's chairs.

Colourful woven rugs, designer linen and matching interior blinds complete your African hideaway. His and hers towel robes as well as tea and coffee making facilities are also provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each tent has its own private bathroom situated adjacent to the tent.

Your Botswana safari at Camp Moremi is inclusive of accommodation, all meals, all local brand drinks, scheduled game viewing activities, park entrance fees and laundry service. Gratuities, curios and all, premium brand drinks and all items of a personal nature are not included.

Please note that no children under 12 years are accepted. Visitors can enjoy the following safari activities; tracking big game on morning and afternoon game drives by open 4x4 safari vehicle, excellent bird watching and exploring the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat.

Days 5 & 6: Ilala Lodge, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

After breakfast and your morning activity (if time allows) you will depart on a charter flight from Camp Moremi to Kasane Airport, where you will be met by a representative and transferred via road to Ilala Lodge in Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls.

You will be transferred via Kazangula border post. The journey is approximately 70km from the Botswana border where you will have to complete immigration and customs procedures on both sides.

The road transfer between Victoria Falls and Kasane is approximately 2 hours in duration and involves customs and immigration formalities at both the Zimbabwe and Botswana border posts en-route.

Ilala Lodge offers distinguished yet affordable accommodation in a gracious and secluded ambiance. The decor evokes a bygone era of adventure and the quest of discovery in Africa.

The hotel is ideally situated and is the closest to the Victoria Falls as well as the town centre. The National Park borders the front of property and wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns with the spray of the falls in the background.

Ilala Lodge offers 32 rooms - 24 twins, 6 doubles and 2 suites. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with separate shower, air-conditioning, overhead fan and satellite TV and are served early morning tea / coffee, fruit basket and homemade biscuits.

The rooms are spacious with railway sleeper teak furnishings and patio doors leading onto either open lawn or a balcony where you are afforded a view of the spray of the falls.

A warm welcome awaits you at the world class a la carte Palm Restaurant. Superb cuisine is offered while you relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the gracious surrounds. The Palm Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a comprehensive wine list and cocktails.

The Ra-Ikane is a small luxury cruise boat that is outfitted to suggest, in exquisite detail, an ambiance of a bygone era. Paying tribute to Ra-Ikane, one of the guides who first led David Livingstone to the Victoria Falls, this cruise boat is exclusive and personalised and designed to compliment your stay.

Period decor, historic memorabilia, fine cuisine and refreshments characterise a level of comfort and grace unsurpassed on the Zambezi. Game can often be spotted from the water too.

Day 7: Depart

After breakfast (depending on your departure details), you will depart Ilala Lodge on a scheduled road transfer to Vic Falls Airport, in time for your flight back to Johannesburg International Airport.

Please Note:

All charters have been booked on a seat on charter basis. Due to the nature of travel in light aircraft, mainly because of safety and space concerns, baggage is restricted to 12 kilograms (26 pounds), per person. This baggage must be soft sided so to allow for it to be packed properly.

If you do have extra bags or have suitcases heavier than the specified allowance, you must advise your travel consultant in advance as soon as the booking is made so that the needed arrangements can be made for the baggage to be transferred or stored at an additional cost.
